Sunbird provides customers with a single source of truth for physical and virtual asset management
SOMERSET, N.J., December 4, 2018 — Sunbird Software, the global innovator in second-generation Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software solutions, today announced that its dcTrack® DCIM Operations software is available to customers of VMware Cloud on AWS. VMware Cloud on AWS brings together VMware’s enterprise-class Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) software and elastic, bare-metal infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to give organizations consistent operating model and application mobility for private and public cloud. dcTrack enables customers of VMware Cloud on AWS to manage their virtual data center assets alongside their physical devices through a single interface.
dcTrack helps users identify and track server resources supporting virtual machines by discovering assets in the virtualized environment. Users can also leverage the visualization search to visually locate assets on the floor map based on criteria such as name, make, model, VM cluster and VM host. Users can determine at a glance which applications and VMs are supported by specific assets.
"With modern data centers becoming increasingly distributed and complex, it’s more important than ever for data center professionals to quickly and accurately manage their data center assets, regardless of where they are located," said Herman Chan, President, Sunbird Software. "Making dcTrack available for VMware Cloud on AWS gives our customers the flexibility they need to effectively optimize their physical as well as virtual capacities to adapt to the challenges of today’s data center environments.”
VMware Cloud on AWS technology partners enable customers to deploy the same proven solutions seamlessly in both the public and private cloud. VMware simplifies the deployment and eliminates the need for partners to refactor solutions for VMware Cloud on AWS. If a partner solution works on-premises in a VMware vSphere environment, it will easily support VMware Cloud on AWS. VMware technology partners complement and enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS service and enable customers to realize new capabilities.
“VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers a seamlessly integrated hybrid cloud offering that gives customers the SDDC experience from the leader in private cloud, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS,” said Kristen Edwards, director, Technology Alliance Partner Program, VMware. “Solutions such as dcTrack enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We’re excited to work with partners such as Sunbird to enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS capabilities and empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value.”
